Post sees first case of H1N1 flu

Public Affairs Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. – A newly-arrived Fort Leonard Wood Soldier has tested positive for H1N1 influenza.  The Soldier arrived at Fort Leonard Wood June 13 and reported to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital sick call June 16. Doctors performed a rapid-flu test which determined Influenza Type A. Further testing at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine verified the H1N1 strain. The rapid flu test can determine within one hour if a person has influenza A, a broad category of flu-like viruses. It takes about three days to determine the presence of H1N1. Read more....
