Mission Statement:

The 169th Engineer Battalion continuously trains soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, DoD civilians & Allied service members and develops leaders in Combat, General and Geo-spatial Engineering skills, in coordination with the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, DoD Fire Academy and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Panama City, Fort Leonard Wood, MO (FLMO), Gulfport Naval Station, MS, Sheppard Air Force Base, TX (SAFB), Goodfellow Air Force Base, TX (GFAFB) and Ft Belvoir, VA (FBVA) for full spectrum operations to fight & win our Nation's wars. Enhance the Regiment and the Profession.

What is AIT?

AIT stands for Advanced Individual Training.  This phase of the Soldier's training is completed right after graduating from Basic Combat Training.

During AIT, the soldier learns more about their selected Military Occupation Specialty (MOS).
