CAPTAIN ANTHONY H. ADRIAN
Executive Officer, DCG - ARNG

As Executive Officer and principal assistant to the Deputy Commanding General – Army National Guard, CPT Adrian functions as the principal integrator for all ARNG Title X activities, focusing on the total mission of the Army National Guard presence on Fort Leonard Wood.  He acts as a catalyst to energize and coordinate staff activities ensuring unity of purpose, supporting the chemical, engineering, military police, and homeland security proponency missions, as well as combined MANSCEN and Fort Leonard Wood Training missions.  Finally, he ensures that actions tasked by and supporting the DCG-ARNG are completed thoroughly and on time, and monitors staff and directorate activities to remain abreast of significant actions occurring on post.

Captain Adrian is a Missouri National Guardsman.  He received an early commission from ROTC as an Engineer officer in 1990, and graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Missouri State University.

After commissioning, CPT Adrian served as a line platoon leader in Delta Company, 110th Engineer BN (Corps)(Wheeled), Clinton, MO.  In 1994, he was assigned to HQ, 35th Engineer Brigade, Fort Leonard Wood, as the Brigade Commander’s Aide de Camp, where he served until his attendance at Engineer Officer Advanced Course and CAS3 in 1996-97.  Shortly after completion of CAS3, CPT Adrian took command of Bravo Company, 203d Engineer BN (Combat Heavy).  While serving as a traditional guard company commander, CPT Adrian was additionally assigned on Active Duty for Special Work at the U.S. Army Engineer School’s Department of Tactics, Leadership, and Engineering, where he wrote and staffed the Engineer Officer Advanced Course Distance Learning Implementation Plan.  On 28 September 1998, he entered onto active duty (AGR Title X).  CPT Adrian’s initial active duty assignment took him to Arlington, VA as Budget Officer for the National Guard Bureau’s $2.1 Billion Distributive Training Technology Program.  After successful completion of that assignment in June 2000, he is presently serving as Executive Officer for the Deputy Commander – Army National Guard at the U. S. Army Maneuver Support Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Captain Adrian is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic Course; Engineer Officer Advanced Course; Combined Arms & Services Staff School; Contracting Officer’s Representative Course; and Sapper Leader Course.  His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; National Defense Service Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster; and the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon with Numeral 2.  CPT Adrian was a distinguished graduate of both the Engineer Officer Advanced Course and the Sapper Leader Course.
