Fort Leonard Wood

Culture and Foreign Language Program

Fort Leonard Wood Cultural and Language webpage provides access to a wide variety of resources. This should enhance cultural and language education at our installation. There are many features that I hope you enjoy exploring, including intercultural communication articles, foreign language learning links, suggested cross-cultural reading lists, and information about cultural heritage observances. All these features demonstrate how the US Army has started to adopt a new strategy in conducting military operations that embraces the importance of cross- cultural awareness and understanding as well as foreign language education among all Soldiers and leaders.

In today’s changing world, the ability to communicate cross-culturally and the ability to use a foreign language is an important resource. This webpage should provide students, instructors, and the public in general with a valuable tool to develop cross-cultural understanding and foreign language learning. We have designed the webpage with the aim of keeping our browsers abreast of the most recent developments in the area of cross-cultural and language education by providing the most up-to-date information, news, reports, and articles. In addition, the webpage also seeks to convey a broad view of the instrumental role of cultural and language education in making our world a better world.
