Command Sergeant Major Roy Ward entered the U.S. Army in July 1984 and has served throughout the United States and overseas in every leadership position from Team Leader to Division Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Ward has a well-rounded military and civilian education background to include Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, First Sergeant Course, Drill Sergeant School, Battle Staff Course, Master Fitness Trainers Course, Sapper Leader School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Rappel Master Course, Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear Course and Equal Opportunity Course, He is a graduate of the School of Cadet Command, Manager Development Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 57), Command and General Staff College Battalion Pre-Command and Command Sergeants Major Course, Command and General Staff College Brigade Pre-Command Course, Command Sergeants Major Developmental Course, How the Army Runs Course, Legal Orientation Course and the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Excelsior University (magna cum laude), and a Masters of Business Administration from the Glenn R. Jones College of Business (magna cum laude).
