1st Battalion - 48th Infantry Regiment Commander's Biography

LTC Christopher E. Judge was born in New York City, NY. He graduated from Norwich University, then he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an 11B. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School (OCS) in 1998.

LTC Judge’s previous assignments include service as a Soldier and NCO with C Co, 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. As a commissioned officer, he has held a variety of staff and command positions. His initial assignment was Vicenza, Italy where he was assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne) 508th Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade where he served as a rifle platoon leader, heavy weapons platoon leader, and assistant S3. He served as battalion logistics officer for 2nd Battalion (Airborne) 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Following completion of the Captains Career Course he was assigned to United States Forces Korea (USFK), Yongsan ROK, where he served as a Protocol Officer. His next assignment was Fort Campbell, KY, where he served as a Rifle Company Commander for C Co, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division. His next assignment was Exchange Officer to the Royal Netherlands Army Airmobile Brigade; then Liaison Officer between Dutch Commander Task Force Uruzgan and all US Special Operations Forces, Urzugan Province, RC-South, Afghanistan. He was selected to attend the Royal Netherlands Advanced Command and Staff Course. After completion of the course he was assigned to Vicenza, Italy where he served as brigade S3 (Plans) for the 173rd Airborne Brigade and Battalion Executive Officer for the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry. He was then assigned to Brunssum, Netherlands where he was assigned to NATO-Joint Forces Command (JFC) Brunssum Commander’s Special Advisory Group, Afghanistan, then as J9 Civil Military Cooperation NATO-JFC Brunssum in Brunssum, Netherlands.

LTC Judge’s military education include: Infantry Officer’s Basic Course, Armor Captain’s Career Course, and Royal Netherlands Advanced Command and Staff Course. His civilian education includes: a BA in English from Norwich University; MA in International Relations from University of Oklahoma; MA in Security Studies from the Royal Netherlands Military Academy. Other schools include: Airborne, Jumpmaster, Air Assault, and Ranger.

LTC Judge's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (1 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), The Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Master Parachutist Badge, Ranger Tab, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge and Air Assault Wings.

LTC Judge’s deployments include: Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, International Security Assistance Force, and Resolute Support Mission.
LTC Judge is married to Anne Judge.
