The Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System (DIMHRS) - is a Congressionally-mandated program with efforts spearheaded through Department of Defense (DoD) that will provide the Services with an integrated, multi-component, personnel and pay system. The system will provide each Service Member with a single, comprehensive record that will feature self-service capabilities to empower Service Members to update portions of their personal information. It is scheduled to be implemented effective 1 March 2009. DIMHRS will:
o Be the largest enterprise planning in the world.
o Support Active, Reserve and National Guard Service members.
o Support full mobilization.
o Subsume more than ninty (90) legacy systems.
o Create one record per service member that follows them across components and branches reducing payroll errors.
o Provide accurate and timely data on personnel assests.
o Provide integrated personnel and pay functions.
