As its name
reflects, the fire prevention branch’s role is to prevent the loss
of life and property due to fire. They accomplish this through
public fire and life safety education, reviewing facility
construction plans, and by enforcing the fire codes and regulations.
The section consists of four certified fire inspectors with a
combined total of more then 70 years of fire service experience.
The fire department
submits to the belief the safest most efficient way to reduce life
and property loss resulting from fire is to not have a fire at all.
This belief serves as the foundation of the Prevention Branch whose
main emphasis is prevention through education.
The fire department relies heavily on the
