The intent of BAH is to provide uniformed service members accurate and equitable housing compensation based on housing costs in local civilian housing markets, and is payable when government quarters are not provided.
The DTMO Allowances Branch establishes per diem rates for overseas US areas.; e.g., Alaska, Hawai'i, Guam, and other Non-Foreign Locations - and also provides world-wide per diem rates (from GSA for CONUS and from State Department for foreign countries).
The regulations pertaining to per diem, travel and transportation allowances, relocation allowances, and certain other allowances of Uniformed Service members (including regular and reserve components) and all Department of Defense civilian personnel.
Most rental units usually do not include utilities. With most of the utility services you will be required to make deposit. You may also be required to close out your account prior to clearing the installation. For more details please reference the Utility Deposit Information tab below.
Most facilities require a deposit equal to one month rent and a six month or year lease.
Furnished units are in short supply. Rental furniture is available through furniture rental stores.
